SUCCESSFUL WORK PROJECT

Garden Society
Work Project at Nila's BackYard

A big thank you to all those who turned out to help Nila get her annuals planted in the flower boxes and to "prune" her Rhododendrons.  Your hard work and fun company was enjoyed!

Thanks Barbara for your work on the window boxes.

We are sure they will be jam packed with blooms soon.

And a big thanks to Denise, Joyce, Cindy, Karen, Christina and Carole for their work pruning and shaping shrubs and bushes and especially Rhodys.  What a hard working crew.

and then....Ed showed up....and we worked even harder.  And he taught us more. We pruned and shaped the shrubs so that they will grow and fill in and look better than ever.

Thanks to everyone who helped today, including Patrick.
Relaxing for a bit after lunch was even better.

and then we had this little visitor who would have liked to be invited to our table..

We need to name him....anyone have any ideas?

and then we cleaned everything up....and await growth and blooms...next year.

Here are the photos of the end result for today - taken as suggested so that we can compare them next year.

Thanks everyone....next event......the trip to Poulsbo to tour the Valley Nursery.

Field Trip to

VALLEY NURSERY in POULSBO

Tour Host:  Ed Bourassa - our very own Master Gardener/Nursery Manager

Thursday, June 25th   All day event

Come & bring a friend if you wish

Meeting at the church parking lot at 10am for Car Pooling

Bring your own Brown Bagged Lunch or we eat out - You decide

Let Nila know if you plan to attend and if you plan to bring friends so that she can arrange for car pooling.  We will divide up the cost of the gas and chip in for those taking their vehicles.  It is only approximately an hour away so we plan to arrive around 11 am and will arrive back home approximately 3 or 4 pm or according to how much or little time you would like to spend there.  Currently, there are no formal classes but they are expecting us on that day.
Ed will be our tour guide.

If you think you would like to find a place to eat lunch upon arrival in Poulsbo but before we go to the Nursery let me know....majority decides.

Event # 5 -  Green Thumbing Opportunity at Nila's house

                         TUESDAY,  JUNE 9th   11 am - Gardening
12 pm - Brief Lunch Meeting

Ok everyone, after having had to postpone, those who are available to help out are invited to Nila's yard on Tuesday, June 9th.  We won't be doing quite as much pruning as originally planned as some of the Rhododendrons are still in bloom! Yay!

However, we have lots of annuals, petunias, to plant in the flower boxes, a few rhodies to prune lightly, and some herb seedlings to plant.  Some of these can be done sitting down at the outdoor table.

We will be gardening from 11 am to noon  We will then have a light lunch of sandwiches and salad while having a lunch meeting.  We will be discussing any upcoming projects, topics we would like to be educated on, and any other ideas.

Hope to see as many of you there as can make it on the short notice.

Let's garden, chat and enjoy this beautiful Sequim Sunshine!

After 9 months and 50,000 shots (only using 5,000 for the final video), 'DaviddelosSan' completed this absolutely stunning blooming flower timelapse. Here's a list of the flowers included: Lillium, hibiscus, carnations, orchids, dandelions, lilies, daisies, alstroemeria, peonies and nigella damask. Check out 'DaviddelosSan' for more!
